If you own a timeshare, you may feel as if you’ve been scammed once. Don’t allow yourself to be victimized by other timeshare scams that promise to sell or donate your timeshare.
Ben Lane published an article that highlighted how scam artists target people who want to cancel their timeshare contracts. The article’s title tells part of the story:
Convicted Bank Robber Gets 18 Years for Role in $3M Timeshare Mortgage Fraud Scheme
It describes the story of Ian Resnick, Adam Lacerda, Ashley Lacerda, and Genevieve Manzoni. They worked for a company called Vacation Ownership Group, which later operated as VO Financial. The conspirators lied to customers, telling them that they worked with banks that held the customer’s loans. Ostensibly, the conspirators said they would persuade the banks to return the customer’s money. Or the conspirators said they would pay off the mortgages on the timeshares at a discount
Don’t fall victim to conspirators who tell you that they can cancel your timeshare contract because they work banks or timeshare developers. Neither banks nor timeshare developers want to cancel timeshare contracts. In truth, the only party that can cancel a timeshare contract is the timeshare developer.
At Timeshare Compliance, our team has a proprietary system that we use to help clients who want to cancel timeshare contracts. First, we schedule a 100% free consultation with clients. During that free consultation, our team will learn more about the timeshare purchase. Once we gather the information of how the timeshare developer abused the trust or defrauded the prospective client, our professional analysts review the case to determine the best strategy to cancel the contract. Then, our analyst will schedule another free consultation to suggest the approach to cancel the contract.
If we’re in agreement, our team will work with licensed attorneys. Clients will sign an engagement letter with our attorneys who will have a fiduciary duty to provide representation.
